皇居ランナー (koukyo rannaa)

koukyo= the Imperial Palace, rannaa= runner

Recently many people run around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

The peak times about 5000 runners are running around there.

So now there are rules for running- like you can run only counterclockwise and only on the left side and so on.

あげぽよ (age poyo)

age= short version of "age age" means more excitement (at club with DJ and so on)

poyo= no meaning just sonds cute?

First Japanese high school girls created and used this word.

And now it has become more popular.

You can use this on occasions like a drinking party "I'm having a fun so much!"

But usually only teenagers can use this word without embarrassment.

ガチ (gachi)

short version of "gachinko" means a game played earnestly.

This word comes from Sumo (traditional Japanese wrestling）.

But now people use "gachi" for anything done earnestly, extremely and so on.

e.g. gachi ota= well informed about something. ota is the short version of "otaku".

otaku= enthusiastic sub-culture fan (but it's not the only meaning...)
